Never said carbs are junk.

They have a place and purpose.

I made some changes to the idle/low rpm circuit and jetting today that seemed to make some huge improvements to the way the car performs at the low end and transitioning up through the rpms. Its unbelievable how much better it got today. Even the AF guage held steady at around 13:1. I am confident the car will idle and not shut off while staging anymore. Hoping for the best at knoxville. Its amazing what re-reading a book and double checking everything can help with.

All of the reading/re-reading i've done still seems to point to the DCOE 45s with 40mm venturi's running out of volume by 6000 rpm. For a 225 slant 6 turning over 6500rpm the charts show a 45mm Venturi (or a DCO 50SP carburetor). Its all intriguing because Cameron made more power on the 45's (with a max venturi size of 40).

I wish there were a few more people running some of the big webers.
