I have my Autometer sensor in that spot on the passenger side. Works great. |

well, i think i may have it figured out. i put a lift kit on the truck and it moved the radiator, so i took the time to relocate it for maximum air intake, i flushed out the heater coil and all my hoses to ensure good flow and i took the plug out the bottom of the engine and put a temp sender in it. that sender says im running 190-200, but the sender on top the engine says im running 240. im not boiling over, so i tend to believe the bottom sender. any comments on what i have or havent done are welcome |

Bottomline, if the system does not boil over, your OK. Note that the cool water (coolant) from the radiator flows into the block first, works it's way to the rear, comes up into the back of the cylinder head then flow forward. Based on this flow, the block water will be somewhat cooler then what comes out at the thermostat cover (water neck) where the factory sender is placed. DD |
