Quote: That is 40CFM more than my Jeffrey head. They may skip right over the 12's and go into 11's!!!
Yeah, that's about the same as my Jeffrey heads, right around 180 with a big valve. Greg has what Mike claimed to be his best head he ever did. Not sure it will even go 200. Saw a guy the other day claiming his new Koffel head flowed close to 200 with stock valves. Flow bench numbers and dyno numbers are great for car show bragging. The only number that I believe is the time slip. |

I'm with Dennis. Dynos and flow numbers are good for making comparisons and improvements quickly (and bragging at car shows). Strip or track testing is where the real builders and drivers get separated from the bozos. This is why a lot of people never go to a dragstrip or a road course. Deep down, those folks know it will never run what they imagine it will, or it will take a lot of work to get there. Lou |

The absolute numbers are relatively meaningless in a sense, but the comparative ones are invaluable, on the same bench with consistent & representative techniques/processes. The flow, wet-flow, velocities, & swirl all are gauges, and these guys are testing, not just talking, They simply seem to have "2" hundred on the brain from V8 testing.......sh*t, most stock BB heads are lucky to flow 231cfm!! |
