If there is going to be an Electronics Guy call out bracket in the first round, the other side of that 1st round bracket should be for the racers that have a points race at their home track. Nothing like having a part time racer like me drive 400 miles to go against someone in the first round who races on that track every weekend they choose to. Just kidding of course, but I look at it, it’s my car, I initiate the launch, I calculate the timing, I win or loose based upon how good I get it done. So I race how I choose to. If you choose not to use electronics, it’s still your choice, not mine. But on the subject of call outs,, consider doing that during a final practice round. The additional pressure could make the practice more rewarding. Some thought would need to be put into this so the Bigs don’t just pick on the Littles,, but consider rewarding one Championship point to a ‘winner’ in a final practice round call out race. But that gets complicated as then we would need dial ins for a practice round. May not be possible. So if dial ins are not possible in a final practice round, consider that the two racers would need to agree ahead of the race on which racer would get time deducted from their actual time and how much time in a heads up - even start drag race. It would be the responsibility of the winning driver to provide a time slip signed by the loosing driver to the race coordinator in order to get the additional point awarded. All of these call out races would need to be public knowledge to the racing group ahead of the actual race being ran. Maybe publicly posted on a white board available for viewing by all. |

Along with the one championship point being awarded to each call out race winner, other side bets, like: dinner, money, car parts, bragging rights, could also be part of the deal. Additional side betting should be public knowledge. That would add interest to the activity. |

I kept the delay box in the 68 Barracuda with the recent re do on the car. I also have a functioning two step as part of the MS3 package. |
