The two barrel kickdown rod at the pin is wider than the one barrel rod. The one barrel Rod will just fit inside the two barrel rod. Better measurements tomorrow. Found a rod that looks just like the one in the first picture, bends and all. Okay my original guess was wrong. So at least for now that picture is of a one-barrel rod. |

Thank you very much for your responses. Your pictures have been very helpful. My fear is it’s 1bbl rod. I am not familiar with the 2bbl rod as I have never installed one. To give a little more info, I am replacing an engine in a 73 Duster that is currently a stock 1bbl 1920. The engine & transmission to be installed are from a 1971 Dart with a stock 1bbl. I have installed the 2bbl intake and brackets...but didn’t realize I had the incorrect kick-down. I obtained the setup many years ago and just never installed it. I would prefer to use the stock rod before I use a Lokar cable. I also placed a “parts wanted” post, but realize the kickdown rod is highly sought after. I have some time to be patient to see if something turns up. Again, thanks for the help! Much appreciated. |

Your photos and measurements are super helpful. The carb end of the 2bbl is also more square—more easy to id in a photo. The original photos I sent seem pretty clearly to be a 1bbl rod. Seems like this is something that could not have been too difficult to reproduce over the years...but I guess not enough of a market. Ive also found that people use the “super six” term broadly—not specifically all the time. So a lot of 1bbl stuff gets referred to as super six. My fear is this going to be like finding a unicorn.... I still have some time to track it down...but my guess if I cannot locate it, the Lokar setup will need to be used... Thanks for your help. Much appreciated. |

You got just about everything you need, the part under the floor pan is questionable but if your original worked and cleared. After it's clear of the pan cut it make your own straight section with an adjustable turnbuckle in the middle of it. That would make for a lot better and more accurate easier adjustment . The original adjuster you have to jack up the car and get underneath of it and it's difficult to get just right no fine-tuning really possible |
