I told Rick in person so he knows, but I figured I would make a post here also in case people are trying to figure out who will be here and if they should make the trip...

I hate to be wishy washy about if I'll be there or not but my attendance will be up in the air for this weekend. My wife and I are expecting our daughter to be born any time now. She is due the 13th. So it will depend on when she is actually born, how everything goes, how everyone feels, etc. - I may or may not be there.

Lou, you're going to make it really difficult for me to stay home if you drive that 34 Coupe up! :D - Maybe Emma will attend her first drag race very early in life haha!

Thanks Greg. We are all pretty excited. You should have seen the dance Rick did when we told him! I wasn't sure if he was going to fall down in the parking lot or not

I thought it was Thai food?
Maybe it was Vietnamese

Either way it was a good time.

With just 3 weeks to go and with only 3 definite drivers coming, I think it is time for the "official" Slant 6 race to be pulled. I will still be there and race in the other Mopar classes, but I can't see the use in a race with 3 or 4 cars. I knew this day was coming, so here it is. Maybe when it's gone someone will miss us! :D :D If I get 20 people calling me this week we can reconsider. Thanks for the memories!

Sorry, Rick.
But I still plan to come with a street car and do some swapping.

Have you guys gotten any Test n sessions yet?

Cold and Rainy here so far. This April is dreary. I think out of 11 days in April all have been rain filled so far.
My local track had canceled opening day a few times already.

Makes sense, Rick, but is a bummer. I think I only missed ONE M-D race in the ~ 20yrs you've run it!

I may come up anyway just to hang out and make some passes. Might put a car in the show in the morning? Will keep y'all updated.

Lou

Yes me too! But lots of people just have other plans/interests/families that take precedent over racing. I am still a bit puzzled that we cant get 6 or 8 cars when just a few years back we had two 17 car fields on one weekend. I will be there even if I'm alone. Gates open at 8:00 and I'll be there soon after. It has been a good run. :D

Rick, got to remember we are all getting older and very few "youngsters" coming into the fold. We have lost several slanters the last few years. Covid didn't help. Many of us can't see the sense of spending a lot of time and money to attend a single day race, so it is hard to get people to travel a long distance. In my case I would like to continue racing the series, as I look at it as more of a "social event" at a race track. But at my age traveling a long distance is pretty tiring. I just can't justify it for a single day race.

I'm just glad I had the good fortune to be around in the heyday of the late 90s early 00s. Got to meet lots of good people and be part of lots of great racing.

Myself, also. From 2001 until Covid, I tried to make as many races as possible. Many great friends.
