I may have an old starter or two I will never use, if you want spares... I only use nippondenso minis.

"Brake washer" or "friction washer" under the driven (larger) gear in the gear case. Gotta be there, and thick enough to do its job, or there'll be problems: excessive spindown time, too much end play in the driven gear shaft (--->excessive wear at both ends of the shaft), etc. They're available in leather or fibre, in a range of thicknesses to account for gear case wear (or erosion by abrasive cleaning methods). see the array of brake washers for the Chrysler starter here.
