I pulled the pan and adjusted the bands. Transmission looked nice and clean. I did find the Transgo stage3 kit that I installed calls for a 2 1/2 turn out on the rear band, not the 4 the factory called for. And the front is 2 turns out. Both settings were close. I reassembled and test drove while on the stands and it still does it a little. If I allow the rpm to get to 2500 or more you don't notice it at all. Also while putting some load on it with the brakes it does not do it. I will probably call Transgo and just confirm what I have going on. But it may be a normal thing with the "tighter" adjustment they call for. Greg, I'm sorry I misread your remarks before that Ruster did the same thing for 10 years. So it may just be their "overlap" event like you said. |

No problem. Good to confirm things on your end. |

I don't think so. I have been running this same transmission for over 5 years and have made no changes to it. It never did this before.
I didn't put a shift kit in the K6, but did weld the hole up in the transfer plate to block the L/R Band from applying in manual low, I was tired of burning the kickdown band out of the 904's. I neglected however(duh), to yank the check ball in the valve body when I re-assembled it, ...You guessed it, as soon as it shifted into 2nd it locked the back wheels in the gravel driveway, as I had backed up to turn around first. Yeah, it's like pulling the park brake. |

Check out Fairbanks/Superior rear servos I've put them in the past few transactions I have been inside of. MAde to prevent cocking in the bore and also cracking. These are billet, not cast aluminum. I don't remember the 904 version but I know the 727/518/46RH/RE version has dual seal rings. Also check out sonnax as they have a bunch of upgrades for these transmissions |
