I re read your post.I used a heat gun and a putty knife to remove the undercoating and it must be removed to get a good weld joint. I the corners you might have to cut and split ,Youll see what I mean when you start making your patterns. |

Thanks for being long winded. The shrinker stretcher tools sure could help on those corners - right now to do the curves I make a wood form and wail on it with the body hammers until the metal "stretches" over the form. My back floors are perfect - I have no front drivers floor and pinholes through the entire front passenger floor. I would have thought the 60 and 61 would have the same rust out prone areas. |

dumb question here but is this floor supposed to be 2 layers. It seems as it is. But all the repair panels are 1 layer from the looks of the m at the sherman site. ________ Barracuda ________ Medical Cannabis |

Relic lover, my 61 parts car is rusted as you say your 60 is but my 60 has spent the last 20 years in a concrete building and I think that the rust in it is more from condensation than anything. The funny thing is that the outer body is nearly rust free. I would love to see pics of your Valiant as I would other 60-62 Valiants or Lancers. Slanted Attitude |

Sidenote: Those fuel lines look pretty gnarly too. Make srue they are good enough or else replace them before you start driving. |
