I once bought a brand new battery that developed a low voltage symptom a week or so after I got it. Had a dud cell from the factory, and only delivered about 10- 11 volts.
The car had a reduction drive starter, so it had JUST enough to start it.
Get yourself a cheap hygrometer and multimeter and you will be able to pinpoint the problem very quickly.
