great idea- i'd love to see this happen! My vote goes for:

*raw aluminum... paint or polish to your own specs
*low fins, no lettering

Do you have a ballpark estimate on what these might cost based on the company's other products?

The idea of a 2-part cover is kind of nifty, I agree. But, I can't help thinking it might create more problems than it solves. For one thing: Another gasket to seal (or not seal!). Also, twice as many bolts or nuts to reach (or drop -- think about the '60-'62 Valiant/Lancer again...). Also, for those of us who adjust the tappets with the engine running, there'd have to be enough room for the wrench to jerk sideways without busting a chunk of expensive aluminum off the outboard side of the cover...

would Pyper6970 or anyone close to Inglewood CA be willing to set up a meeting to check out an engine compartment and have a few pictures taken?

We're certainly learning more about what you guys are looking for which is good.
Any chance the member who is 5 minutes from us could drop by with his car so we
could get a physical feel for what is involved and shoot a few pictures of his
engine compartment? We're typically here from 8-5 M-F. If he could call me (or
David Tolin) the day before he wanted to drop by that would be helpful.

If David decides that there is enough sales potential to pay for the tooling
investment and allow PML to make some profit to make it worth doing, the minimum
time frame from start of design to finished product for sale is 3 months. It
would likely take a few months longer than this due to the need to support our
existing industrial customers and the increased work we've been getting from
them recently. A new valve cover project would be considered a side project to
be worked on as our engineers have time. Just trying to give you a feel for how
long it would take before a new valve cover would be ready for sale.

It looks like they are going to look into our valve cover, however we need someone who can get by there shop in Inglewood CA.

Howdy,
Sent'em a note, offered what help I might be and requested a pair when they're up. Unfortunately I don't have a normal engine bay for'em to reference. Has anybody else been in contact with'em?

Not as far as I know. I am shipping a factory unit from my 69 to them in the morning but can't find anyone in the LA area willing to spend a few minutes with them for photos and measurements of the engine bay. If nobody steps up this may not happen.
