Are you running electronic ign? If so it sounds like the pickup coil in the dist or the module. That is assuming the wireing is correct.

The problem was the ignition control module. I changed that out today and now I am getting a perfect spark and I'm sittin pretty. I still haven't fired it up but my battery was low so I'm going to try again tomorrow. Thanks for all the help, I'll let you know when I start up.

The struggle has ended :D This motor sounds like one bad mother. Thanks a lot for the ideas, they helped a ton.
