I pulled the head off the K1/Wiseco engine today so I can put the Howard Davis head on it. I got everything cleaned up and ready to re-install, but want to check measurements just to make sure I'm on the right track. Head gasket is .042 copper Pistons are out of the hole .011 on the intake side .012 on the distributor side Combustion chamber is 48 cc Valves are 1.45 and 1.70 Bore is 3.504 I'll be using RAS 1.5 roller rockers Cam is 290 @ 20, .597 lift, 104 centerline, 263 duration @ 50 Now,... Where is that old Auto Math Handbook I had around here...? ![]() I don't think I will have any valve to piston or bore side interference issues. 3.504 is bigger bore than Howard was running and the 1.45 / 1.70 valves are smaller than the 1.4? / 1.78 valves in the Bruner head I just took off... I don't know the chamber volume on the Bruner head though... ![]() It's midnight... Too late to think too hard... (Yeah, yeah... Go ahead! You know you want to... ![]() ![]() Goodnight! ![]() |

You so funny! ![]() I think I'll rig up something to CC the combustion chambers on the various heads I have laying around so I can compare them. The 48 cc figure is one from Howard's notes, but I haven't confirmed it. Don't know about the Bruner head. I have flow data, but can't seem to find the chamber volume figure for the Foster head. And then I've got another head that is said to have been milled about .050 that I'd like to verify. I'd like to button the race engine back up today or tomorrow, but want to make sure on the chamber volume first. I'm off to the garage... |

Yep enjoyed myself. Brought down a hand held Garmin gps for Mater's son Mr. Mike - did I tell ya he is the brains of the outfit? Mr. Mike is going to have a few adventures geocaching. Got holt of a torque converter for the Demon - originally belonged to Possum - I miss his unique and cryptic posts. Picked up a few other bamboozler parts while horse tradin. Took the scenic route home and got to see the Fort Knox building where all of our gold is - yeah right - prolly all in China by now. Went past Ohio Valley Dragway and an interesting establishment called River Girls. ![]() ![]() Good way to spend the day - thanks Mater! |

Yeah,... well,... mebbe we share a little too much from time to time... ![]() Anywho... We found our first geocache today. ![]() There are like a dozen of these things within a few blocks of our house! ![]() We started lookin' fer the second one on our list, but had to quit and go to a swim meet and 4-H archery practice. We'll be findin' a bunch of these things... ![]() Yeah, yeah... Rob has yet another hobby to distract him... ![]() This one ain't got nuthin' to do with cars and is Mike's hobby, not mine! So there! ![]() No Challenger content in this post. ![]() |
