I did make a tracing of the hood hinge brackets for you guys that wanted them. I actually drilled some holes in them so they are lighter. :D :D I'll make copies and send to Greg , Lou and Rob.

Thanks Rick!

It is possible that I might get to installing a fiberglass hood this year!

Got some re-wiring done. Moved the radiator forward about 3/4" to get some needed room and got the fan and air duct in place. Fired the engine back up and ran until hot. Didn't have any leaks. Belts all stayed in place and looked good. Will recheck again tomorrow and possibly take for a drive. :D :D

Eventually I will get an aluminum panel for under the carb inlets to keep some of the heat away.

I ran the car back up to temperature 180-190 two more times this evening. No leaks, and the electric fan works automatically and manually. Buttoned up some more small items, and installed the grill. Only thing I have to do is put the hood back on and align it. The alignment pin holes make that a snap. Almost ready for Wilkesboro. :D :D

Hood is back in place. One thing I will say that is the best thing I ever did was drill 2 1/8" alignment holes in the hood brackets. That way you can loosely mount the hood, insert the pins and tighten. Voila! Done. on a race car that has the hood off more than normal it is great.

If anyone knows where to get some some sponge rubber spacers like on the hood pin let me know. I lost one and have no idea where I got he originals. They were just in my toolbox drawer! :D

Would anti-roll bar end link bushings work for the spacers?

These are a soft sponge rubber type material. It works nice with the glass hood. I adjust the hood so I just push down slightly into this little sponge rubber spacer and then hook my hood pin. It worked good until it ran away from home! :D :D

Rick, what are the dimensions of the rubber? I bought some soft foam rubber to use for gas line insulation. I think it is 3/8 inner diameter. It is a long tube, so it could be cut to any length. I'll have to get a pic of it for you.

It is probably 1 1/4" I'd guess. 3/8" ID would work. I can measure tomorrow for sure. Thanks!

Rick,
The foam I have is one inch diameter with a 3/8 inch hole in the center. I think it might be originally for HVAC purposes.
If you want to give it a try, I can send you a foot or so. Just let me know.
