They also changed some of the fuel supply pieces, I forget what they were called. Man, I would really LOVE a set of webers. |

Yes, those should pick you up a bit, Rick. Tilley even went to 42s, IIRC. Lou |

Well, I didn't get them ordered yet so I will check into 42's also. Thanks! |

Don't trust my memory completely, Rick. 40s will be almost identical to 42s, and it might run a little better since the venturi size is more different than the main throat?? Worth reading about if you can find materials, tho. Lou |

Yes Lou, that is what I found. I really did not find the 42's for sale anyway. It looked as though the 40's would be fine so I ordered them. I have to try and keep ahead of Dennis. ![]() ![]() |

I got the 40MM venturis last week and I also ordered 2 new sets of air jets and 2 new sets of fuel jets. It sounds as though once you increase the venturi size the jets need to go a size or two larger due to less pressure drop through the larger one. Once they get here I will swap them in and take it for a test run. (Roads and weather permitting) ![]() ![]() |

I got all my parts to swap in the 40MM venturis on my Webers. But I thought it best to take a peek inside the top covers and see what things looked like before I made the changes. I'm glad I did. There was a lot of "crude" in there in my opinion. So I went ahead and disassembled them and dropped them into our ultrasonic cooker for a good cleaning. Since everything, and I mean everything, is adjustable there are a lot of parts to these. I will let you know if it runs at all after I get all 3 cleaned. ![]() ![]() Attachment: IMG_4827.JPG [ 60.7 KiB | Viewed 2506 times ] Attachment: IMG_4830.JPG [ 60.76 KiB | Viewed 2506 times ] |

Rick, is that ‘crud’ varnish left from the gasoline in the carb evaporating over time? If so I wonder if there is someway to fully drain the gas from the carburetor between use? My bet is that slant is going to run stronger after you get those carbs cleaned. |
