Quote: maybe we could get a list of phone numbers together encase anyone has car troubles or questions
This is a good idea. I don't know any of you guys outside of this forum, but would be happy to help if someone got stuck along the way. If no one want to coordinate this I will. Anyone interested PM me your cell number and name and I will send out a list to everyone that does.Rick, my name is Wayne Swanson if you want to change my screen name to my real name on the list. Also, do we have any other contingency plans if it does rain? There are enough tracks in the area where one may have good weather if it rains here. Maybe it wouldn't be an official points race, but it would beat driving all that way and just turning around and heading home. |

What is really great, is the people helping me, are not car nuts, just friends. Even one of my customers, whose car is not finished, said to forget his car, untill I get back, and work on my Cuda.Lou As for the weather, Maybe we could get Frank to do a Non rain dance. ![]() PS: the front end is back together, pumpkin is out, have a 3:00 pm appointment for a alignment. Also found a bad front wheel bearing. I'll post an update later, now back to work, on a full belly. |

I bet Rick has cell numbers of most of us, but PM him or me if you want. I hestitate to post mine given the nature of the internet, but I will gladly pick up my phone on the way and try to help anyone I can. I see 40% chance of rain, which means we can likely get one or both races in. Very hard to relocate tracks on the fly, and I'm not sure what's the next nearest one. Personally, I try not to let the weatherman rule my life unless the chance of rain is 100% and it is less than 1-2 days in advance. Everything can change in 2 days. Lou |

Who knows that forecast could all be different in 2 days; and the winds might blow the rain elsewhere. I talked to Romeo today - He is planning on coming unless something happens back here in PA with his mother who is 90 or his brother. He is now helping his brother take car of mom. He has no computer in PA so that's why we havent seen him for a while. Greg |

If anyone wants my cell drop me a PM. It is a company phone so I can't talk for long periods of time, but I'll gladly try and get you out of a jamb or help with anything I can. I will check the forum often between now and Saturday. My home phone is 717-762-1701 so it is available too. Rick 40% rain is still 60% not rain. ![]() |

Well, my GF is picking up my new driveshaft for me as I write. I had a lengthened shaft built and balanced. Hopefully this will get the car "good enough" to race Now I've got to finish the wiring on the trailer lights! Hopefully tomorrow after work or early Sat morning! yay! |

Latest info: The local weather folks sound much better for our races than the national weather people. They are calling for clouds and sun both days and only a slight chance of a shower or thunderstorm late Saturday night and on Sunday. So that is good. It may change again in 2 hours! ![]() Ron Parker is out - Bad storm tore up his house, HVAC system,...etc Frank and Cinda are out - due to a death in the family, Sorry Frank Charlie schmid is about 1/2 way here. Will be in tomorrow sometime. Way to go Charlie! Also to everyone - There is no test & tune Friday evening. They have a compact car race that evening. Post subject: | Test & Tune |
After I posted, I thought I would check the only other local track which is just Southeast of Frederick,Md. The strip is call 75/80 Dragstrip and it is in Monrovia. They do have a test and tune Friday night and the cost is $25. I did a map search and it is just about 35 miles from the East side of Hagerstown where some of you were staying. It is almost all interstate driving to get there so it would only be about 40-45 minutes away. If anyone wants the address or needs more info just let me know. Rick I know Charlie Schmid was looking forward to a Test & Tune and he would be coming right past this track tomorrow if anyone was interested in meeting up with him. I will call him by phone and let him know about it. |

It's 6 PM and I'm getting underway to Sam Powell's momentarily. Stan Aiton is caravaning with Will Burns. I forgot to ask if Stan is bringing his car, but it sounds like it. I am tentatively interested in the t'n't. It is likely closer to Sam's place (Gaithersburg) than Hagerstown. Will Ryan and you (Rick) want to do the t'n't too?? Took Project V down the block before loading up and the throttle reponse was sweet. See y'all soon! Lou |
