Rick I was getting the car ready today and it started blowing water out around the head gasket. Looks like its history. Unfortunatly I have to work tomorrow and wont have time to fix it not to mention I dont have a new copper gasket anyway. If anyone has one please let me know. If I dont hear from anyone I may give Jim Cox a call and see if he has any left. Sorry we cant make this race we were going to be there by 2:00 Sat. Hope everyone has a great time. |

Ron, Really sorry to hear that. Anybody got a gasket for Ron? Let him know ASAP. Charlie Schmid is on his way to Hagerstown and I think he had some copper head gaskets. If he has one with him, you could come up early Saturday and we could do a trackside thrash and get you going by 5:00PM. ![]() To Lou: Ryan and I will not be going to test and tune. I didn't know if Seymour and Ron heath may be interested? I don't have Seymour's cell number but I know he was meeting up with Ron's group tomorrow afternoon. Good news, I found last years Rookie of the year (east Coast) Charles Heflin. He will be coming Sunday and racing a slant 6 4-speed Van. I may have some competition! Talk to you later. Rick |

Sorry guys, I got as far as Illinois about noon today but then the oil pressure started fluctuating, I was near an exit but it really went down when I braked. It was down 2 1/2 quarts in about 330 miles and I couldn't tell if it was going through the engine or just leaking out. Couldn't really find anything wrong or a leak that serious but I decided it would be smarter to turn back than to continue. At the rate I was going I would have had to add 20 quarts for the round trip. Oil is cheap but I was worried that it might keep getting worse. I added a couple of more quarts on the way home and made it alright. It still seems to run fine and feels ready to race but I won't be there. I really wanted to support this event that Rick and everybody worked so hard on. I really wanted to see Ron Heath and Will Burns again. I hope everybody has a good time and that the event is so successful you will want to do it again next year. |

I am safely in Gaithersburg, MD - hitting the hay. I have a copper head gasket at my house, and I could probably get Christine to find it, Ron! You could grab it on the way??? I think it's an SCE about 0.050" thick. Yep, sorry to hear about Seymour and Da Ron's, but we'll have a ball anyway! Lou |

AT 75/80 you need a helmet if you run 13.99 or faster. Leaving for work now. See you all Saturday. Sorry you couldn't make it Seymour. maybe next year. Rick |

Greg if you are doing the t&t I may be interested in going with you. I just got the new drive shaft installed at lunch and the vibration is almost completely gone. Guess the old one was just too short. I get a slight vibe at 80-90 mph, but it is 90-95 percent better than it was. Probably other things are contributing to the vibration that is left. I still haven't finished the wiring on my trailer, but I'm almost done. Greg, you are welcome to stay at my house too if you don't go to B-more. My brother and sis-in law decided to stay at my moms house for the weekend so it is pretty quiet here! |

Yay! Leaving for Mason Dixon in about half an hour when I get off work. I called Greg so he knows it is going on. He's not sure if he is going or not yet. Post subject: | Update |
Several of us met at Mason Dixon for a couple test & tune runs last evening. Charlie all the way from Florida ran his "Charlies Angel" for the first time in 2 years. He ran a 17second run on all motor, then opened the nitrous and ran a 13.7 I believe. Ryan's Dart ran a 15.5 in total street trim spinning wildly through 2nd gear. Street slicks go on for tomorrow. Chris(Valiantone), spinning badly, also ran a 17 second time his very 1st run ever. He was lowering some tire pressures and was going to make another run, but I had to leave before he did. Greg's "Ruster Racer" blew a head gasket and he will be replacing that this afternoon at the track to try and get it going. My son Micah ran Ryan's 85 pickup and it ran a 18.5 bone stock except for a 500 4barrel. That was 2 full second faster than my truck with 1 barrel. His has 3.91 to my 3.55 also. Well, hope the rain takes a nap. I have some things to do before I head down to the track. I will see some of you there later. To our internet family, I will try and put a short update on the site late tonight. Rick |

Post subject: | Rain out |
I just got home at 8:00 PM. We were rained out. We had 15 cars show up which is good but the weather just would not cooperate. Tomorrow looks 50/50 too. The owner said their radar showed the storms moving out by late morning tomorrow. Hope he is right. Met some new faces and seen some old ones. Hopefully I will have a race results update for tomorrow. Rick |

Post subject: | Rain out #2 |
Well we all got rained on again, and they canceled the whole Mopar event. Brian Droshack showed up this morning (Congrats on a new baby) and Thomas Heflin showed up as well. He was our East coast rookie of the year, so Lou was able to present him with his plaque. I feel sorry for all those who traveled so far, but we all got to meet some new people and put faces with the names we recognize. We are working on some dates to reschedule this event, and I will post that info shortly. I will need to know if you are interested and are planning to come, and which dates suit the most people. They have actually rescheduled the Mopar event for June 13, and that is one of the dates to consider. Thanks to eveyone who came out. I think our total car count was 17 for the weekend. Rick |

I showed up at 10 am today (Sunday). Campers were breaking down their gear. The rain hardly let up all the way home. |
