Quote: Rob I wish I had known you needed a two groove alternator when there is one in all the parts you bought with the challenger.
Now if I could just find the time to get down there and pick everything up! Quote: I have a couple of alternators with 2-groovers. You can have a whole alt if you like, just have to figure out transfer... No, I don't want to press a pulley off...
Aw, c'mon... Where's the love? Lou Quote: Who says we ever do?... Red car is on the trailer and ready to go though.
See? Told ya! Quote: Rob - hit the pulley lotto! PM me your phone number. I thought I had it around here somewhere - can't find it.
You can be honest. I know your wife made you throw it away after the banquet. |

How far are you from Bobby Rogers, Rob?? I may ship him some headers and could drop an alt in the box. Or, I could be twisted to send to you directly. Lou |

Hey Lou, That's great that you're gonna hook Bobby up with a set of headers! He posted that he found a 4 barrel intake too, so he should be ready to race with us at Clay City this year! Wayne is going to check on pulling a 2 groove pulley for me and I'm still looking around locally, so I don't think I'll need to twist your arm just yet. Have a great time at Elk Creek! I'll be anxiously waiting for the race report. |

Rob, you do know there is a special puller/installer for doing those pulleys, right? |

I got the 2 groove pulley (and an A&A Transmission catalog) from Wayne yesterday. I WAS going to press the pulley on in my shop press, but Wayne PM'd me a warning not to do that. I'll give E-Town Electric one more try and see if they can press the pulley on for me without hurting the alternator. I've been by there twice and each time the "alternator and starter guy" was out, "come back tomorrow"... 9 days 'til Knoxville... I don't see it happening. I may just drive the SRT-4 down there so I can hang out with folks. Not sure right now. Probably gonna skip Bristol to go on a canoe/camping trip with the swim team. I'm committed to Clay City, so I guess I HAVE to go to that one. Bob Rogers was in town yesterday. We tried to get together, but the timings just didn't quite work out. |

You can use a press if you take the alternator apart and put a block under the end of the shaft. That way you don't push the shaft out through the back of the case. Guess how I know that? Oh yeah, make sure the front of the case is on the shaft BEFORE you press the pulley on too. |

I'm skeert of electricity though! I did get a couple things done last night before Angie called to tell me the A/C went out on the Suburban yet again and that I should replace the hot water heater myself instead of paying to have someone else do it Oh yeah, GodsRods Duster schtuff... I got the electric water pump installed. Need to fabricate a different bracket or get a shorter belt. I also made a little progress on the wiring for the MSD, starter relay, neutral safety switch, water pump, fan, line loc... Not there yet, but at least I made a little progress. I could tell my insomnia sleep deprivation was affecting me about the fourth time I sat something down and forgot where it was. I spent more time walking in circles looking for mislaid tools and parts than I did turning wrenches. |

| Post subject: | No Duster progress, but doin' stuff... |
I replaced the hot water heater and painted a big part of the basement. I got a new A/C compressor, accumulator, dryer and had the system purged today so I can replace the parts over the weekend. Also had to do a quickie brake pad replacement on the SRT-4. Since it looks like I won't be making any races this season anyway, I think I'm gonna re-focus engergies to my Dart so I can at least have some driving fun. I'll fiddle with the Duster around other things as usual. |

I got most of the wiring done. I still need to wire a taillight (it got left at the Bruners) and add in the relays for the fuel pump, water pump and fan. It feels good to have the scary wiring part almost done. The test will be when I put juice to it! |

| Post subject: | "Kitchen Pass" |
I got a "Kitchen Pass" to go play cars this evening after work. I had to check here to see where I had left off... Oh yeah, I DID get a spare driveshaft to have shortened the other day. Hopefully I'll have some progress to post after tonight. |
