Good to know it was that big of a change. It may not make the car faster overall, but it will make the low/midrange and idle better. May not matter depending on your converter stall.

0.032" should not hurt it.

It's good you have a dream.

I've already been low .70s.

Don't sing it, bring it.

I drove the car to work a day last week and it feels soooo good! I can't believe how it pulls. Oops! I forgot I still have the 4.89 gears in it from last fall at Knoxville. :D :D That's why it feels so fast! Still wish I could get a "good weather" run with these gear in. I feel certain I could get into the 7's in the 1/8 mile. It has gone 8.0 with 4.30 gears. Guess another gear change is in my near future!

Your 2 Mile Jaunt from Buttermik to Quincy should be fun!

I think there should be some TNT's at Mason Dixon soon?

what about Quarter Aces Drag -o- Way? you should be able to get up there before easter.

Best of Luck, and See you in May!

I've been 8.02 with 4.86 gears. I think with some tuning I can get to 7.80s.

See anything different about #6 cylinder? Yes I had a rocker arm lock nut come loose and then the push rod fell out. Basically finished the run on 5 cylinders! :D I pulled the pushrod and the lifter and both looked great. Dropped the lifter back in and set the valve lash, then fired her up. All sounded well. So that was good news. If I would just have had 10 or 15 minutes I would have fixed it and made the Semi rd. Or I may have had a bye into the final. (Only 3 cars left) But didn't want to chance it.

Car had 4.56 gears in it so I knew the mph would be off a little. Plus the weather was about 100% rain in the air all afternoon :D :D

Car ran: 13:01 / 101.03
----------13.01 / 101.28
----------13.03 / 101.40
----------13.07 / 101.58

Glad to hear it was simple! Are those factory adjuster screws? Hard to see. If so, you might need shorter pushrods.

Quick Fix! Great.

I thought it would be something simple as you kind of thought, as when you pulled it up on the trailer it did not sound catastrophic to me.

Lou, Rick swapped out to non stock adjuster screws, so the locknut/ jamnut is required.
