Post subject: | Friday Street race? |
Here is a link to the Street Race classes (If it works) Looks like most of us would fit in a class somewhere. There is no T&T scheduled, but I can ask if they would let us run one. Let me know. The only thing is that it is $30 or $35 to T&T and when they are running 5 or 6 classes you don't get too many runs for that money. My opinion. http://www.masondixondragway.com/Street%20Rules.htm |

I will be there for sure on Saturday, and maybe on Sunday. I hate to ask you to repeat info already stated above, but what time does this all start. Where should I go? I have a general idea where the track is, but have never been there. If I understand correctly, it is near Grimm's junk yard west of Smithsburg, and East of Haggarstown itself. Is that right? I will look on line to see if there is a web site for Mason Dixon. What is admission, and the racing fee for Sat? Do you have to pay again to get in on Sunday? Should I bring anything? The AF meter is dead, so tuning is sort of blind, and likely not going to be done much if at all. Looking forward to meeting all of the fine folks whose words I have read for years. Thanks. |

Sam, It is not close to Grimms unless 5 Miles is close. ![]() Quote: You want to get off I70 at Rt.66 (Mapleville Rd). Turn left off the exit and go about 1 mile, turn left on Rt#40, Go about a 1/2 mile and you are there. Track is on the right.
I'll post later about the times. It costs $35 to race, $10 if your just a spectator. We will give some money back to 1st round losers in the race. Probably $15. So if you come and race it will only cost you $20, $40 for both days. We will set the final payouts the day of the race once we see our car count but I have $700 in hand plus $25 for each car entered for payout.Rick Covalt Enter off Rt#40, Tell them you plan to race, pay your $, get your tech card, follow the lane into your right and go past the bleachers and the buildings and go right up along the staging lanes. Once you pass the staging lanes, turn left and look for a bunch of crazy people. ![]() Once you arrive we will help you with tech, and tech card. There will be plenty of new racers, so no fear? More details to follow, Rick |

Post subject: | T & T |
Greg & All, I have an e-mail into the owner about a T&T on Friday night. As soon as he gets back to me I'll post it here. I think most of our cars would fit into one of the street classes as long as they have mufflers on them. A couple of the classes allow slicks and no tags, they just need to be stock appearing. I personally would rather pay $35 and run in a class race and have a chance at a trophy and some money, than to pay $35 to T & T and only get 3 or 4 runs. Of course if you don't fit in a class then T&T is your only option for Friday. Ryan said he would bring his Dart down if some of you are coming. Times for the Races: Friday - Gates open at 3:00PM, begin runs at 5:00PM. (For reference only) I will update as soon as I hear from the track. Saturday- Gates open at 12:00 - Time runs - 2:00 PM, There is a Gamblers race at 3:00 PM for anyone who wants to run in it, Then the races start at 5:00 PM I am planning to go down at noon or shortly thereafter. Sunday-- Gates open at 10:00AM, Time trials begin at 12:00, Races as soon as Time trials are over. Probably about 3:00PM I plan to be there on Sunday at 10:00AM More to follow, Rick[/b] |
