May I recommend Visiting your local body man - He has a huge trash pile of these things laying around..

I stopped by a body shop at lunch today and picked up four likely candidates. Thanks for the tip! I had been thinking about this for a couple years. Seeing you and Mark making it work inspires me. :D

And dont pass on those plastic bumpers with dents in them,a heat gun on the back side and a piece of wood pushes them out,go slow and easy.I love em,free and light. If you want to go this route you will start looking at every rubber bumber car out there.Never paid them any attention till recently, bet you all will bee looking now.Guzzi Mark

I lowered the front mounting of the rear springs by 1". I tried to lower it 2" by using the hightest hole in the front spring mount, but The front "wrap" of the spring around the bushing hit the frame so I had to use the middle setting.

I have a set of lowering blocks - Does anyone know if these are legal to use as per IHRA / NHRA rules?

They are 2" aluminum with a centering nub on them.

Also Removed 10# of extra Seat belt Mounting reinforcements, Battery tray reinforcements and Undercoating from the LF and LR wheel houses and Fenders.

Total Weight Loss since November 2010 Now @ 282#

I run those same lowering blocks on my car with no problems, never had a tech person say anything and have read the NHRA rule book several times and have seen no mention of them.I actually cut some degree into mine to get my pinion angle where I wanted it.Good going on the weight reduction,,,remember the first 200 are easy,,,the next hundred gets tough.Love the updates.Guzzi Mark

You might think about the added leverage the blocks will give to the rear-end housing to wind up the rear springs.
