Sounds cool. I will be using 2.25" pipes/flanges from the headers to a Y-pipe just behind the trans X-member and 3" out. Will blend the 2.25" flanges/pipes into the header collectors a bit. Lou |

Sounds like what I was going to do. The outlets are close together to make the intermediate pipe trivial to get equal length to a merge collector. The longer the intermediate pipe the more torque produced. At least that is what I experienced with Dutra duals. |

Yeah, I have a box of 23 rods with pistons of various over sizes for a forged crank. Kinda of useless for a cast crank engine. I also have 2 forged blocks that may be candidates for a 3.5" piston. Time will tell and that will be a future project. |

So yesterday I was installing a lowering kit on the Duster. I lowered the rear by 1" using a Speedway kit. The Duster has 6 leaf springs in the rear and they always raise the rear end up to high. The U bolts in the Speed way kit are excessively long. So I needed to cut them, or wait, I remember that I bought some U bolts in 1978 for my first Duster/Demon/Dart Sport. They have been kicking around in the bottom of a tool chest ever since. Yep, you guessed it, they were the right length. So in they go, and the car is now 1" lower in the back. The moral of the story is, never throw anything away. You never know when you may need it. Just a reminder, there are now 30 videos at the YouTube link above of me doing stupid stuff on the Duster. For a good laugh, give them a view. |

So true. The MOPAR fanatics will be pleased to know that these U bolts came directly from the dealer and have the proper flat top so they won't crush the axle tube when properly torqued. Of course I will most likely be castigated for using lowering blocks instead of the "properly selected springs" to lower the car. With fanatics, you can never win... |

So what is the deal with Berrymans Chem-dip Carburetor cleaner? It used to take 24 hours to soak a gunky carburetor clean. I just finished soaking one for 2 weeks and I am still wondering if it is "clean" in the small passages. And this is after 3 1/2 cans of brake cleaner to help the Berrymans along. Add hardware store drill bits to the list. Dewalt used to sell good bits. I have used them to drill out the broken bolts on the exhaust manifolds many times. Either this is a super duper bolt or they are now junk. They just spin and don't cut. Such is life... |

Took the Duster out for jaunt down the rood. About 5 miles round trip. This may the farthest it has gone in 20 years on its own power. It went out running on 5 1/2 cylinders and came back hitting all six. Just needed to blow the cobwebs out. |
