Starting to get the wiring 'roughed in'. Sheeeit there's a lot of wires coming out of the Megasquirt. I'm using a motorcycle switch pod for turn, lights, horn, etc. |

The MS 3 series has a serious amount of feature control capability. On my install I did not use several of the feature controls. For example, I don’t have anti lock brakes, or an electronic transmission, so some of the options that the MS 3 Pro can handle will never be used. I used a wire terminal pin removal tool and removed the wires from the white and gray connectors that I don’t plan to use. That slimmed down the wire branches, but there are still plenty of wires to run. One the wire routing be careful of EMI interference. The lines carrying really low voltage, like out of a variable reluctor are susceptible. Using a MC switch pod is a neat idea! |

My first step for building a wire harness for this project was to draw up a wiring diagram. It's been edited countless times and this is the final iteration. |

Then 3 weeks of head scratching, running wires, crimping, soldering and stuffing it all into corrugated wire loom. |

One reason I went with the MS3 Pro Evo is so I could get the more sophisticated traction control. I've been thinking about how to put a speed sensor on a front wheel. There isn't much to work with. Then I looked closer at the vanes inside the brake rotor. It looked like a Hall Effect sensor could fit right in there. So I chucked the brake rotor in the lathe and squared off the edges of the vanes. And made a VERY simple bracket to hold the sensor. |

Nice. That's the 2nd slant 6 car/truck I have seen making use of the Motorcycle Traffic controls. Greg |

I FINALLY received the reverse pattern shifter I ordered back in September. This compliments the manual valve body in the 904. Install was a breeze. I also made up a stop for the go pedal. I don't want to pull the ends off the throttle cable. |

That's the same shifter I have in my 66 Valiant. Old Fairbanks Racing Transmission unit, I got back in the '70's. The mechanism is actually a industrial hydraulic control unit. They just use a different trans lever, and a "custom" plastic cover. I think Winters is now the vender. |

Yes, Winters is the brand now.
