This argument is semantic. Yes, on the '65-'72 A-body factory A/C, the portion of the underdash housing that holds the A/C evaporator can be separated from the portion that holds the heater core, but they are two parts of a single whole, not two independent housings. Neither one will function correctly without the two parts attached to one another.

None of this stuff is factory equipment. It's all from an aftermarket add-on air conditioner. You're still missing the condenser, the filter-dryer, the expansion valve, the compressor mounting brackets.
