But can not fix stupid. So I guess Im Stuck with that Thanks Ron Parker Jaggers Fabrication Slanted Attitude Dart |

Well here I come. No lope on my stock 72 model cam (except when cold) It idles smooth, and pulls great vacuum. I took it to a friend who's built Mopars for 35+ years. He set them cold. Now I have instant response in getting on the freeway etc. He set both at .008 cold. Before you start talking smack? Try it your self and get back to this thread. They have been running this way since 2004, and I drive this a lot. '69 model head no hardened seats, 34K on it when we swapped heads, now has almost 62K If you don't have the nads to try it? STFU I have duals and if there was any burnt valves I would know it by now. Ask the guys at Beech Bend how it ran! Dan what evidence do you have on the dealers setting the valves hot? I can't see them spending moey on a VC gasket and getting a new motor all oily. Besides if they set them new they are going to need resetting after a short while. BTW set the guage in while it is running and you get a miss? You set them right. Flame suit on. |

I was hoping someone would respond to Rug's reply. Are you serious??? I'll try it unless you are pulling our leg. I did similar, back in the old days of stock eliminator racing, before I got my "cheater" cam. I would not do it on a street engine. |

If things are tight in the chamber? Decked the block? and .120 off the head? I would be careful. I took .090 off the head. Stock short block and cam. Like I said, it runs fine. There is still some ticking in the engine, just isn't that loud. I have check it with a laser temp guage for exhaust temps. They are all pretty even. 380*-415* |
