On stock pistons? Isn't the stock compression ratio like under 9.0:1? I guess I was a little vague, I meant you couldn't mill it enough to raise compression that high on stock pistons. But, if you have done it...

Yep, stock pistons/rods. Stock actual comp is around 7.5:1...

Well dang, how much can you mill off them? I would assume if you're getting that kind of compression it'd have to be at least .100".

I will stare right into a light but not a red light. I have run in the fast lane all my adult life . The red lights were on the fire engines I drove for 20 years. More than 0.100". I have done max of 0.110" on the manifold side and 0.210" on the plug side of the head only.

That's a bracket racing project and not something expected to achieve decent economy. 300hp and 30 MPG in a slant six a-body is unrealistic.

My point was that comparing a much more modern and efficient body and a more modern and efficient engine to a rear drive Chrysler vehicle with a slant is not apples-to-apples. For cruise fuel economy aerodynamics and engine operating efficiency are key. Weight becomes much important to economy in city cycle driving and in climbing grades.

I don't expect to see the same sort of economy in an A-body that the 2.2 Turbo crowd can get, so no arguement there - though it would be intersting to see what sort of mileage an injected slant six and one of the newer Mopar four bangers would get for an engine of the same horsepower in the same car (or nearly similar ones).
