Rick, we may have to get out there and do a roller paint job on your project, just to get it ready for Kearney... How are your wetsanding skills? :)

 Got tired of all the excuses, went and repossed my Dart and all its associated parts. I'll get my money back some other way (Ve have der vays to meke u talk......) but for right now I just wanna get the darn thing moving again. Cleaned it up, as it had been left outside, mounted the hood, and put the doors back on it. Called my old buddy Eddie, who owns a body shop, and hopefully it won't be long before we see it with some color on it. Pictures to follow. The thrash has officially begun........RICK

We're getting off topic, but since I started this thread it's OK

It sucks when cars end up in body shop limbo. You did the right thing by pulling the project. Let me guess, it isn't as far along as he said it was either :x .

It goes the other way too sometimes. In May of '08 I had a customer stop paying on his restoration. It was literally 2 weeks away from being finished (I talk in hours, 80 in this case, not actually 14 days). So after 1 month of "i'll stop in and settle up" I trailered the car home and put it in the shed. So now I have a lien on a '68 440 Coronet. If he thinks that I am releasing the car without payment he is mistaken. If he thinks I am going to finish the car after he does make payment he is mistaken. When settled I am setting it in his front yard for him to deal with.

 About the only bad thing about this site is finding good people who are 1200 miles away, not twelve. Yeah Chris, if you were just down the street, I could have rolled it into the shop, gotten first rate work at a fair price, and been racing the thing by now. Just all part of life's learning curve. I am determined to make the scene this year. See you in Nebraska. RICK

In a way... I have to thank all the poor service - poor quality shops I have delt with over the years... because of them, I have tought myself to do decent body and engine rebuilding work.
Trouble is... if the project runs behind schedule, I can only blame myself!
These days, I get pretty good race car paint jobs riight out of a spray can!
Touch-up is a "snap".

That's funny Doc.

Alrighty, back on subject.

Any word on who or how the purse is going to be raised and distributed?

I would even be fine with "gambler" style races.
