Thanks Dan! I just ran across a thread where a 4 blade fan broke and went through the hood! Made me alittle nervous, but I guess it has made it 47 yeas already!

No, the fan in this pic is standing still. They don't work unless you spin 'em.

I suspect that if the car was not pointed to the center of the earth, and were on its four wheels, one would expect a lot better performance from that fan… When spinning, that is.

Seriously though, I also prefer the five blade thermostatically controlled viscous clutched fan. Quiet, effective, less drag than a direct connected fan. I also like electric fans. I plan to convert all my old vans as well as my brother's van and his Duster to electric radiator fans.
