We finished up the year with another good turnout of 16 cars. We signed up another new member who raced with us and now have over 50 active members in the Killer Bee Racing Team. One "newbie" was Wendy Pine who had never been to a race..never driven in a race or knew anything about racing slant6 cars. Guess what..she made it all the way to the quarter finals and went home with a good $$ for her efforts. We need to continue to get new people involved ...It works out here and I want to thank all our team members for promoting the sport..
Oh Yes, who won..
It wasn't Glen Terry...He has a new faster ride now
Rookie of the year was right down to the very last race..Dave Enders vs. Frank Wright...Frank took the honors...Congrats Frank..
Who Won the race...It wasn't John Terry either.
More later from the hive...

The rookie of the year confuses me. I know Dave Endres had his first race at Infineon this year. Frank Wright on the other hand raced Randy Judge in October of 2008

So if Frank raced in 2008, how could he be a rookie in 2009? What am I missing?

Anyone pick up my dark blue folding camping chairs? I left them under the middle tree when I moved my truck.

Rookie of the year can not have been entered in more than one SSRN event in a previous year. I was ineligible last year due to entering more than one event in the previous year. That's the rules as I understand them.

CJ

Congratulations Sergio! :D

Hi Joshua: Yes, Doug & Allen Dutra found them and are holding them for you.
CJ is correct and Frank was listed all year long as a "R" as was Dave. Both did great all year long and both were very competitive cars..Congrats to both..it went down to the final race pairings.
What a good year//especially with the current economic conditions.. See you all in 2010..

Thanks for clearing that up CJ. That makes sense to me. I knew I was missing something there. Congrats to Sergio and Frank. I wish I could have been there with my camera. And congrats to the Killer Bees team for having another fine year. I miss the team. Dobie is on car ramps right now, trying to fix a nasty transmission fluid leak. But the hood is up, and the engine still sports the Killer Bee colors.

I went to the Moonshine Festival in Dawsonville GA on Saturday. They had over 100 classic cars. I was stunned to find only a handful of Mopars though. I know Dobie gets a ton of attention when I drive it down the street. Now I know why. Old Mopars are kind of rare in comparison with other makes.

Congratulation to Sergio for taking the event and to Frank for Rookie of the Year honors. It was an interesting first year for me never having raced before. I feel lucky to have had as much success as I did but I certainly learned a lot from all of you. My thanks goes out to Doug Dutra who loaned me a spare distributor on Sunday morning so I could continue to race that day. My points were fried and I was going nowhere without the spare. Thanks to Ed, Wayne and Fopar for loaning me tools to make the swap. Althought I was very disappointed to be disqualified in the quarter finals, due to a very minor oil leak (and I mean minor), it was a lesson well learned. I won't make that mistake again. Next season I will return with a new car and all new drivetrain put together with what I've learned and input from a lot of you folks. Thanks to Gary Nelson who introduced me to Slant Six racing. The Killerbees are a great group of people and I enjoy being around all of you. See you next year and thanks again for everything.

WISH We could have been there,,,,Las Vegas MATS is a go at this point. I am having knee surgery this Fri and needed to work the overtime prior to being off for about 4 weeks, and Rhonda having been promoted to Sgt at work... well that makes it hard to get the time off being promoted so recently...

I will have my car by then... so we shall see what I have learned in this short period of time.... I have discovered that it is fun to watch, BUT much more fun to race.....hehehehe

Hope all is well for everyone...

Terry & Rhonda

Big T and Rhonda failed to tell all that they sponsored the entire Redding race themselves...Can't tell you how glad we are to have both of them as Killer Bee members and can't wait to see Rhonda's car at the track again and Terrys' new ride. I hear it is a bad *** car. Thanks both of you for your continued support and see you in 2010...BEE THERE.

I am trying to piece together the results of the Redding race so I can update the Western Points for Menko who is trying to finish the newsletter.
From the information on Killerbees.com and this thread I have come up with.

Winner - Sergio
Runner up - John Terry
Semi final losers - Tristian & Wendy Pine
Quarter final losers - PJ, Dana Prater, Frank Wright, Maybe Dave95693
First round losers - Doug, Alan, Wayne, Dave Erickson, Joshie, Fopar

That makes 14 cars and Wayne said there were 16. Who am I missing?
Might be someone who was there with a car but couldn't make it to the line for first round. Are there any corrections to what I have. Anyone who was there please help.

Thanks - Seymour
