Radarsonwheels: Sounds like straight cut gears in the jeep, which I can't afford either!

yes, and you also can hear in the video how the gear box literally BLOWS!!! :shock:

I have found out that the company that casted this heads is in Tandil city, I tried to call but didn't get any answer. I'll be at that city on january for holidays, So I will spend some time there to see what happens ... :P

Still can't find a a in car video of a Slant powered ACTC Dodge car ... damm :(

weren't the old muncie manual trannys straight cut gears ? What makes straight cut gears so great ? ( I must be showing my youg age here)

Muncie transmissions have helical cut gears. They were just a better trans than the Saginaw units. Straight cut gears are quite loud.

Thanks joshie didn't know, but is there any advantage to having straight cut gears over helical cut gears ?

Hey Mike, straight cut gears are stronger, but promote the old "if you can't find 'em - grind 'em" syndrome and other situations like double clutching to shift. I think the 4wd crowd likes them for pulling out tree stumps and boulders.

On the cylinder head, I am looking forward to seeing more about this ACTC casting, where they can be obtained or if casting molds are sitting in a warehouse somewhere!

Straight cut are also much easier to shift without using the clutch - good for road racing and other venues.
