Radarsonwheels: Sounds like straight cut gears in the jeep, which I can't afford either! yes, and you also can hear in the video how the gear box literally BLOWS!!! I have found out that the company that casted this heads is in Tandil city, I tried to call but didn't get any answer. I'll be at that city on january for holidays, So I will spend some time there to see what happens ... Still can't find a a in car video of a Slant powered ACTC Dodge car ... damm |

Muncie transmissions have helical cut gears. They were just a better trans than the Saginaw units. Straight cut gears are quite loud. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gear |

Hey Mike, straight cut gears are stronger, but promote the old "if you can't find 'em - grind 'em" syndrome and other situations like double clutching to shift. I think the 4wd crowd likes them for pulling out tree stumps and boulders. On the cylinder head, I am looking forward to seeing more about this ACTC casting, where they can be obtained or if casting molds are sitting in a warehouse somewhere! |

Straight cut are also much easier to shift without using the clutch - good for road racing and other venues. Lou |
