I am planning on the Erson 280/270 cam degreed at 100. Should make a solid difference and be also very docile with 9.5:1.

At some point, this motor may find its way into one of my lighter cars, with maybe a little boost? Let's see ... 8 psi, 258", in Project V - 11s, 10s??

I think that would be a great way to go really fast. With the big cubes and a turbo there is no need to wind it over 5500. That would be a cool ride.

now i am wondering.........you guys who have cut and welded the crank, do you think welded rods woud work? properly welded and treated rods should be able to hold up to the lower rpm this engine would be running?? if the crank holds up, woulndt rods?

looking at that first clip: a cut low on the rod angled up and away from rotation might work. this would reduce the shearing effect on the weld, staying away from the highest stresses on the rod.

Welded rods sounds scary. Why do you need to weld rods? The '76-down 225 rods are wide enough for about anything. Smaller diameters can be had with rods from a different engine.
