I found these pictures on my phone as I was transferring pictures to my Image Shack account.

This is what caused me to take that "Left at Albuquerque"... :(

If you can weld or know someone that does, this is the only scary rust left. The left front framerail is good and both rears have been replaced.

Rotate the image counterclockwise and it puts it in the right perspective. This is the framerail right where the K frame and upper control arm mount.

A better shot with more light. You can see the cancer pretty good in this one. Again, rotate counterclockwise.

Kinda scary they were running 13's with this thing, huh?

(Sure wish I knew if they knew or not. Ya know? :? )

Ah well, on to other things.

Seems a shame to junk it with so much having already been done to it.

The rust is localized to this one foot area and could be fixed by someone with the right skills...

On the other hand, it can still give up some decent parts to folks needing them...

I'm betting that if that section looks that bad, the rest of that rail is toast from the inside out.

Whack both frame horns with a hammer real good where they make the curve up under the floorboards. You may be amazed at what you see Rob.

I'll do that Dennis. I'll let you know what I find.

Maybe even drill a test hole or two to check things out...

You won't need to drill, a hammer will tell you everything you need to know. :?

Competing in things like the GrassRoots Motorsports 20XX Challenge, 24 Hours of LeMons and/or the ChumpCar Challenge are all on my personal "Bucket List" of things I'd like to do before I kick the proverbial "Bucket"...

Lou's competing in the 24 Hours of LeMons the first weekend in March and I just saw a post from Mark Guzzi out in California saying he just bought a '62 Lancer for the same purpose (I really hope he doesn't use the Lancer for that...)

Anywho, since I got side tracked on the "Street Duster" or "Ruster Duster" by that front frame rail that looks like swiss cheese, it's been sitting there,... and sitting there,...

There have been thoughts of fixing the front framerail and selling it as a roller or putting another engine tranny in it and playing with it, parting it out, crushing it, using it for a car bash,...

So, is anyone interested in going in with me on fixing the framerail and putting this thing together for some fun?

It's solid enough to be fun, but not nice enough to restore...

The Perfect ChumpCar! :D

(Yeah, yeah, yeah,... Here goes Rob - Off on another one of his hair brained schemes...

So what! Put Up or Shut Up! )

I took the pictures... You need at least patch panels for those lower quarters. Heck, the GodsRods Duster needs 'em too...

(BTW: I figured you'd say that and I had an answer ready fer ya... "Show me the Money!" )

Seriously though, you need to decide if getting patch panels from someplace like AMD would be less hassle and cheaper in the long run than cutting these off the black Duster. Kenny may even be able to simply make some patch panels out of flat sheet steel since it doesn't look like it involves any body lines (other than the curve at the very bottom)

Richard
New framerail from Auto Rust Technicians = $169.95 + tax & shipping
Labor to weld it in = ???

Tube frame front end = $

I know where there is a Duster body sitting with new quarter skins on it, good front frame rails, and a clean title.

It could be owned for not a whole lot of money. :D

"I took the pictures... You need at least patch panels for those lower quarters. Heck, the GodsRods Duster needs 'em too..."

Yep, when ya first took the pics ya said it needed rear quarters.

Then ya offered quarters.

Now the GR Duster needs 'em.

Now I need patch panels!

I DETECT HIGH LEVELS OF ESTROGEN! Might want ta get yerself checked out!
