Don't worry about rain. There will not be any. The only reason it rained, last year, was because I drove over 2,000 miles round trip for the race. Can't make it this year. I did get in the Fri nite TnT, however. Most expensive TnT, I ever attended. Did have a good time meeting other Slanters, and bench racining. Plus a visit with my brother, who lives in Montgomery county Maryland, and hadn't seen for about 5 years. Have fun, folks.
We will miss you Charrlie, But everyone can sympathize with why this is a tough trip to make.

Hi Guys - I am getting excited about the event, it's coming up soon; I am a bit bummed that Mason dixon does not have the TNT friday night :-(

Maybe the 75-80 Dragway will have a friday night TNT.

I talked to romeo on the Phone but he is Back in PA now with the red '67 Dart, and He would like to come if possible.

He is still a maybe as some family things might be more important that weekend than racing.

Greg & All,

I sent an e-mail to 75-80 just to confirm that they do have a T&T on Friday, and they do.

From Lisa at 75-80;

"Rick-It is best to get there early, by 4:30, to be assured you get in a lot of races. We start competition at 6, so at that point test and tune will run in between competition rounds."

So if anyone wants to go to 75-8- it looks like you need to get there pretty early.

I have an e-mail into Elmer at Mason dixon just to make sure that they are not having T&T Friday and to confirm the time on our Saturday race. I will post back as soon as I hear from Elmer.

Thanks rick for getting all this info!

@ Chris, You can use my 1980 Dodge aspen sedan Stocker - But you have to come get it :( I have only a one car trailer. It's my driver this month.

I am sure you can find a slant 6 truck of some kind up at the covalt compound or possibly Lou will lend you the slant kota?

Just thinkin out loud!

Greg

Ok, I just got an e-mail back from Mason Dixon and they do not have anything going on at the track on Friday night. They are not open and there is no test & Tune. So if anyone wants to T&T it will have to be at 75-80 dragstrip about 40 minutes away.

Also the times for the race on Saturday:

Gates open at 8:00AM , 12:00-5:00 they will be running T&T, After they run the first round of T&T we will run our first time trial. We will get 2 time runs and then we will have our race. It sounds as though we should be done early evening.

Sunday Race

Gates open at 8:00, time trials begin at noon.

I would suggest that we all get to the track early, especially on Sunday if we want to try and park together. The pits side will be full for the all Mopar event. Swap meet vendors and should be there on Saturday as well.

More to come.

So test and tune is running from 12 until 5 saturday. Can we run both test and tune, and the slant 6 race? I was thinking if I was eliminated first round it would be nice to continue running test and tune.

Also since there is no test and tune Friday night I think I will go down by my house to the "five forks Rd." Dragway and see how the dart runs. Anyone who wants to come along is welcome..... I think we could get 5 or 6 runs in before the waynesboro police come out  Seriously though, keep me posted on the 75 - 80 dragway test and tune, I might try to make it down for that if I can.

why not make a map of the grounds and post it here so we print out/know where to go/when
also tell the track aprox number of slanters showing so the can be aware of our group.

I couldn't sleep so I thought i'd make a map of the track using google maps. I labeled everything I could remember, and the star is where we usually try to pit. The track is kinda set up as whoever gets there first gets the parking spot, so if we get there early enough we could save an area big enough for our club. If we are planning to pit somewhere different let me know and I will change the map.

back in the day when we had events as a group we had some cones that we would get deposits for our group and set them in our area with our logo on them. thus creating a designated parking area..maybe we could get some cones with the letter 6 painted on it and do the same. It would hel[p the tarck peeps to know that we have an area too.most people would understand why we would do such a designation..say take $10 depsoit per parking spot and then refund it when that person arrives..
I like the idea of representing our group..

Thanks ryan,

Great work!

I have some Caution tape and I usually try to Put it up between trailers to save a number of spots.

Cones are great too. The locals have the abilty to get there the earliest, so Puttin up a number of cones can save us some spots!
