Mater needs ta find himself a good pocket knife. He is always borrowing and returning. We experienced this at Clay City last time. The knife starts out like me - nice and sharp! Gets returned just like Mater - just another dull tool! |

If you have the time, a front end alignment would be nice. Nothing like fighting the steering wheel during a long trip. |

Maybe new, wider tires, like a 215/60/r14, good tires can make a huge difference. |

NICE! How fresh are the tires? Any ideas at all? If they are weathered at all, maybe a new set.

Actually, this trip is going to REMOVE a lot of strain... ![]() (And I haven't been "fresh" in quite awhile... ![]() ![]() The tires are supposedly in good shape and there's a good spare in the trunk. All things I will verify when we get there and keep a close eye on along the way. ![]() |

Yeah, a truckers Exit Guide is a big help in planning food stops and sightseeing stops. It tells you all the pertinent info about what is at each exit along the interstates of America like Drug Stores and important things in case the unexpected happens. |

Chase is 16 today! ![]() Plan is to be at DMV when it opens in the morning to get his permit and the temporary tags for the Duster. We'll do some street drivin' around here tomorrow as well. ![]() Then we fly early Tuesday morning. Spend the first night with Doc before heading North to the Jesiolowski's. Then up to Woodburn for the race. If all goes well to that point and we don't break his new toy at Woodburn it's all points East back to Kentucky. Chase wants to go "Old School" with paper maps and no GPS. That's my boy!! ![]() Gotta find my camera... |

a big point someone made is what is your route? im here in Phx and can tell you its gonna be hot coming down this way... personally with a new car i dont think i would test it in our neck of the woods... be safe and stay at least on the 40 (thru Flagstaff and east) never can go without a wheel star wrench... also buy a set of lug nuts for it... sucks when there is one 11/16 on and then the rest are 3/4"... |
