The more I think about it and look at the pictures I believe I will just modify an earlier valve cover to fit the later head. I believe this will be a fairly straightforward mod, I can post pict but am lacking the valve cover at this point.

If anyone has one for a reasonable price than I would be interested. Thanks
You will have to split it and widen it about 1/4" and maybe swap the mounting surface from a later cover onto the plug side. A stamped stock cover it could be done pretty easy, a finned cover wouldn't be worth the time or money to cut one up. If you were dead set on an aluminum cover for a late model it would be less work (aluminum welding) and fab time to just make an adapter and then sell them to guys like me who don't have the time to make our own.
Stamped, stock finned valve cover is what I like, like you say pretty easy I am sure. Just have to keep my eyes open. Shame because I have seen them at the scrapyards but didnt bother to pull one.

I will see another.

JR- Can you post a picture of the inside of one of your Offy Valve Covers? Baffled about Baffles!

The Cox brothers made up some super nice sheet metal aluminum valve covers that were for the later heads.
Kind of helps too when you own a sheet metal shop and have the dies, tools, and roll formers to just go out and make something that's correct, works, and looks good too...

They are just old no name aftermarket breathers, might be old Cal Custom pieces. You can still pick them up at swapmeets but they defiantly aren't as cheap as the used to be.

Valvecover is just an old Offy that had the name milled off and the front of the fins notched back in the 60's to clear something when it was in a 56 Alfa SCCA car.

Did the Cox Bros. build those or did they import them from Oz? I know they did the one that was on the Dart, but they told me they were working with a guy down under to get more made.

Either way, the one they had on the Dart was a freaking work of art.

I saw Jim Cox today at the ICH swap. He has 2 of the fabbed covers left, and they do fit the hydraulic heads. PM me if you'd like his number.
