There are other classes
Super pro, pro, trophy, Sportsman, Jr dragster, motorcycle.
There is a lot of good racing to watch, when we are not racing.

Best way to get there from I 81 is to take exit 69 in TN turn left if your coming from the north, that is 394 stay on 394 and it leads you to the gate for the Drag Strip on the left.
Thanks for the good directions.

Every car must have a neutral safety switch where the car can not start in drive.
I need to get that squared away! Most places ask me if it works and I say yes and they believe me.

the reason I mention it is because they stop me from racing one weekend because I bypassed it when I started racing the duster and I had to fix it before I could go through tech.

My Nss is not working either and I have no idea how to wire one up.the tranny has the 3 pin plug screwed in but I find no other wires to hook to it. I guess I will have to pass on Bristol until I figure this out.norm

Norm they aren't hard to hook up. If I can do it you can. I can look how mine is hooked up but they come from that switch up to the starter relay somehow.

Greg can probably rattle it off if he just did his.

Norm here you go. The Chrysler 3 prong switch works as follows:

A. Outer terminals #1 & #3 are for the backup lites, these contacts are normally openand then closed to complete the power circuit to the reverse lites.

B. The center terminal #2 is for the neutral safety switch, this is grounded when thee linkage is in park or neutral. Its wire goes to the starter relay.

Inside the transmission is a lever arm which pushes the switch when in the respective position.

This should be what you need to get it fixed

Just a follow up about where to park. As Jack said, behind the tower by the creek. When you come in past the gates, instead of taking a right to the pits, go straight. There is a small parking lot near the creek where we will be. I will bring a radio to listen for track announcements.

On another note, I do not have my car ready for this race and would like to borrow an available car if possible! I can come and pick up/drop off with my trailer. I know it is a long shot, but had to ask!

Brian I talked to Gary. He is not coming, he is rebuilding the eng in his red valiant. He said you could use his beige valiant if you want. He said Meril may have a car as well. You might want to call him or Meril.
Thanks Ron

Forgot to mention that where we will be parking that there are a couple of trees that "might" offer some shade! I'm bringing a small generator to power a couple of fans for relief as well.

He rebuilds that almost as much as I do mine! We need some more locals to show up! Any bushes we should be kicking? There was a NC fellow & his son who were trying to get their car ready last year. Mike Andeas maybe? Anyone heard from him? I really hate to not have a big turnout for this race. The promoter has certainly done his part.

Did Gary say if Meril was coming? Rodney make sneak in under cover?

My Valiant is available, what time are you coming by?  If I had another 50hp, I may try towing to Bristol with my truck. I'm just not as brave as Charlie yet. Also an aluminum trailer would help.
