At this time RT66 opens 1 time a year for the NHRA national event. I'm not sure how it's structured but the NHRA pays RT66 track rental, and RT66 also gets a cut of the concessions. The NHRA brings in their own timing system and track prep/safety equipment. NASCAR actually owns RT66 as part of the deal to get the Cup track built. NASCAR hates opening the gates for anything that doesn't put a ton of money in their pocket. They never did like the bracket program. After being closed for Covid, the Cup track is reopening this year. Apparently their deal with Chicago for racing downtown wasn't that cool. I suspect Billion Dollar Brandon tried to put the squeeze on them for more money too. RT66 is going to be the start/end spot for Drag Week this summer. I was hoping that between this and the Cup track reopening there was hope for a bracket schedule, but sadly, no. As a side note, there is a great little dirt track on the grounds at RT66. They have been running every year since the Covid ban lifted. |

Wow! It looks like a world class facility. I can't imagine that they would not want to lease it to someone for the times all year it is setting doing nothing and make something off of it. |

Just canceled the rest of the season and canned a bunch more people. Supposedly the bracket racing side is unaffected. |

IHRA is in complete free fall. The Pro , boats, and dirt track series are all gone. All division directors got released today. IHRA Australia was told they're not being bought as they were promised last year. Rumor is Mr. Cuttell himself is going tobe removed from the ownership group soon. All the equipment is for sale. Mr. Cuttell was building a data center for Elon Musk in Memphis and apparently wasn't getting the results Elon wanted. Lawsuit is in progress and Elon shut off the money stream. Hopefully the tracks can be saved. Wbat a total crapshow. |

I am guessing that maybe, must maybe, Elon Musk doesn't care about drag racing. Or, any single thing in the world except money. |

All reports now make it pretty clear that Mr. Cuttell was grossly mismanaging the IHRA and his own business. I'll go out on a limb and bet Elon didn't knoe he was supporting drag racing. Darana supposedly had a $400 million contract to build a data center in Memphis, and nothing was getting done. It's a huge crapshow now. |

Apparently Mr. Cuttell was overbilling for the data center, not doing the work, screwing all the subcontractors, and billing XaI Ai for equipment and supplies that were delivered to race tracks. Supposedly that's why almost every track was named Darana. Cuttell was trying to sneak stuff past XaI auditors and got caught. This will be tied up in court for years. Hopefully the tracks revert back to the previous owners and stay open. |

Maple Grove canceled the rest of their season and shut down. Hopefully the Koretsky's can get control of the facility back. |

Was there ever supposed to be NHRA Meet at Maple grove in 2026? I see there is not anything scheduled now. They are heading to many different tracks around these parts thix year such as 131 and MIR in MD. |

No NHRA presence at MG at all this year. Cuttell swooped in and bought the track last year and NHRA moved to Martin. Now it appears the Koretskys will get the track back. Will the NHRA return? I do not know. |
