At MD spring race, did Ryan's 115.86 mph reset the A/G record?

No, The car broke on the next pass, so I didn't get the chance to back it up. If I could've backed it up it would've reset the ET and MPH records.

So, it has been quite a while since I have updated the records. Here are the records that were set at Wilkesboro in July.

Jackie Everhardt III broke Ryan Covalt’s old D nitrous record by over 1/2 second and nearly 5mph by adding nitrous to his Yellow Pickup Truck. Congratulations to him on breaking that record!

D/N Jackie Everhardt III 1980 Dodge PU 3,225# ET 10.0523 MPH 70.55 set 7/18/19

The next record was set and broken 4 times on the same weekend. I’d think that a record being set/broken 4 times is probably a record in itself! Anyway, It seemed like Norm was going to come away with the record that weekend but the next day Lou was able to run a little faster and come away as the B Nitrous record holder! Congrats to everyone on breaking records and earning points. I’m looking forward to seeing these guys run nitrous again in the near future! That was such a fun weekend! Here is how the records went down:

B/N Jackie Everhardt Jr 1975 Dodge Dart 2,685# ET 10.4201 MPH 63.78 set 7/18/19
B/N Rob Simmons 1973 Plymouth Duster 2,653# ET 8.9681 MPH 74.27 set 7/18/19
B/N Norman Foster 1969 Dodge Dart 2,665# ET 8.2677 MPH 82.01 set 7/18/19
B/N Lou Madsen 1966 Plymouth Valiant 2,670# ET 8.1111 MPH 83.60 set 7/19/19

I was also able to reset the A Gas record that weekend:

A/G Ryan Covalt 1962 Plymouth Valiant 2,150# ET 7.0540 MPH 94.24 set 7/20/19

Yes he did! :D :D He lowered the 1/8th mile 3 or 4 times. It is into the 6's. I also think he reset the 1/4 mile ET and MPH.

Hey Lou, I did not break the 1/4 mile MPH record at clay city. The car went 114.696 at Clay City. It went fast enough to break the record at Mason Dixon (115.86) but it broke before being able to back that run up. The MPH record is still held by Mark @ 115.51

After the records are turned in to Seymour it should be:
1/8 Mile ET: 6.962
1/8 Mile MPH: 95.936

1/4 Mile ET: 11.125

That is so cool that you have the Valiant so dialed in! And winning races on top of that. Seymour has to be tickled pink. :D

It’s cool to have a Pick ‘Em Up Truck on the record sheet. First non A body record I think.

Does your updated spreadsheet re-populate on Google Docs? I posted the link in the Complete Record Rules Sticky. Just want to make sure I don’t need to change the link.

Hey Rob, I am not sure if that same link will work for the records list or not. I know it will not work right now because I am using the updated sheet you sent me. When I get back to my computer I will see if I can make it work. If I not I will post the updated link and let you know.

I hadn't thought about this being the first Truck record. That's pretty cool. I have a nitrous plate on my blue truck that needs to be put to use one of these days too :twisted: last time I sprayed nitrous I ended up 1 piston short.

Did Charlie end up breaking the D nitrous and backing it up? If so does anyone know what the record will be?

If Charlie submits the record and it gets approved I think it will be 9.39. He ran a 9.00, but the 9.39 was the only other run he made before his carb issues.

9.391 at 73.532 mph
