So why is the Challenger grazing for so long. It looks pretty much turn key.

Lou
The story of my life... GodsRods Duster I started this trend when I stold the rear end and carb off my Dart back in 2002-3.

I think I've replaced all the parts I've stolen off the Challenger for GodsRods Duster II:

Transmission Cooler
Mini Starter
There were a couple other things, but it's been so long I can't remember now... :? I'll figure it out once I get around to putting it back together...

The engine had to come out. The new race engine that was in GodsRods Duster II at Clay City is going in the Challenger. I'm in the midst of putting all the hardware on the engine.

Other priorities like GodsRods Duster II, Chase's "Demonster", my Dart, Angie, Andrew, Chase, Mike, CJ, Mischa (Not necessarily in THAT order  )

I pulled one of the rear wheels off GodsRods Duster II to get some measurements for the "tow hubs".

I also took the minivan hubs apart and cleaned them up so I can grease the bearings and put in new seals once they are welded to the mounting plates.

I'll post some pictures once they're all done.

I need to install the tow hitch on "Stella" so we can use it to dolly tow GodsRods Duster II to Knoxville NEXT WEEKEND!

Tow hubs and hitch are all welded up and ready to install.

I picked up the bearing seals and a fresh tube of grease for the hubs.

Plan is to install the hitch and wiring in "Stella" this evening and get the tow hubs all ready.

Then we'll pull GodsRods Duster II in the garage for the "Knoxville Thrash"! :D

Post subject:  No spark... AGAIN! :-(

Well,

We hooked GodsRods Duster II up to "Stella" and towed it around for awhile... Up to freeway speeds, up and down hills... All seems okay. Panic braking may be a bit of an issue...

We got the idler arm replaced and bled the brakes...

Tried to fire it up and I'm not getting spark from the coil... :?

It seems like this happens to me an awful lot.

The only wiring we've messed with since its last outing was swapping starters... The small brown wire was loose, but that shouldn't cause this. tightened the wire and still no spark...

I'll head back over there and fiddle with it some more after I drop Chase off at the bus for his soccer game in Louisville...

It may be decision time again if I don't get it running this evening...

1. Ditch GodsRods Duster II and just take Stella to Knoxville.
2. Just call it and have a relaxing weekend at home.
3. Continue in my embarrasing tradition of pulling these non-running things to Slant 6 races and begging for help.

After changing HEI modules twice and coils three times,... It was a broken wire (inside what LOOKED like a good covered connection  )

So, a little after 9:00 PM as I was putting in the third HEI module I discovered the bad wire. A quick re-crimp and it fired right up.

I didn't get to go through it the way I wanted to since I was chasing the ignition issue off and on most of the day, so we're just gonna go with it!

Two Dusters headed to Knoxville in the morning.

Yep,... Chase dun it! :D

I made the call this morning that we wouldn't be towing to Knoxville afterall. :( 50-60% chance of rain with thunderstorms... I had little inidications all week that "maybe we shouldn't go"...

I hope they get to race.

It's raining here too. If it clears up and US60 or Ohio Valley are running we'll do that.
