| Post subject: | Bad news |
Well. you have heard the "good news bad news" thing. I have both. Ryan stopped by on Saturday and put my 3.91 rear with spool in the car for me. Thanks son!! Then I got my results from my MRI on my back this morning. 2 herniated discs! That is why I have not healed up in the last month. Not exactly sure what that means for recovery, but I will find out tomorrow. One apparently is not too bad, then the other is not so good. Might have to wheel me out to Mason Dixon on a stretcher!! Well I got the hayabusa and the quad. But don't have the Nos. Maybe that extra hx35 will do the trick. |

Thanks for all the offers! It sounds like you want me to really hurt myself! Anyway Cory, I hope you are planning to come down and race with us at Mason Dixon? Rick |

Do we need someone else to drive your car, Rick! Seriously, sorry about the back problems - sounds awful. I am certainly psyched for M-D... Lou |

One way or the other, I plan to have my car go down the strip in May. If I can't drive then someone else will have to. I'll know more in the next couple days. It sure put a hamper on things!! Rick |

Rick, an MRI showed I had 2 herniated discs 10 years ago. I got so bad I physically could not walk. Was layed out on the floor for a week. Went in and got a cortisone epidural and was back at work in 2 days. Had 2 more shots over the next 6 months and have not been in too bad of shape since. A good chiropractor can do wonders too. Good luck with it. |

Can offer advice - find a good D.O. they are trained in manipulation just like a chiropractor. But they can make sure you have more than just vitamins to help that back out! |

I recently went through 6 weeks of decompression for my chronic lower back pain (bulging, protruding and degenerating discs). It really helped. X3 on the Chiropractor as well. |

Seen the local "experts" today at the Neuroscience & Spine Center. Things are not so bad as first thought. Both discs are bulging but not ruptured/torn. So that is good. I will have 2 steroid injections next Wednesday and should do very well. I am going back to work on light duty Monday and have every intention of driving my own car down the track next month. My Dr is a DO and the specialist said that we have done everything right up to this point, and that made me feel better too. Thanks for all the advice! Now back to the car. I will try and get the valve body back in the car tomorrow and button everything back up. Slip in the drive line and refill the tranny with fluid. Then a test run through the gears and maybe around the neighborhood. I have the new starter relay and wiring to finish hooking up and I am moving my fuel line a bit. It is getting to hot where it presently is. With that I will be ready to race!! Woo Hoo!! Again!! Oh, Yeah, I just picked up 2 904's locally. Both low mileage and should be fine to put in and drive with a fluid/ filter change and band adjustment. One was a 1968, and was free, and had 68,000 miles on it. The other was a 1971 and was $50, and had 89,000. One will be my spare, and the other will go into my daughter-in-laws Duster when it converts to the "Wild Side" . Removing the V-8 and installing a real engine! Rick PS. Re-check fluid. |

Glad to hear the "not too bad" news about your back Rick! I am looking forward to seeing you at M-D. Sixy Beast will be there for her debut! Currently on the dyno getting tuned! Still have to finish a few small things... Brian |

Got the valve body back in, and the pan on. The shifter cable and arms are installed. Installed the drive line. Also hooked up my neutral safety switch and ran the wires around the back of the transmission and around to the passenger side, and up along the transmission dipstick to get to the Starter relay. This keeps all the wires away from the headers. Tomorrow I will install the axles and rear wheels and fill the transmission with fluid. Re-route my fuel line a bit (15 minute job) and we should be set to fire her up again, after setting for a month. Rick |
