Mike and Blaine did it years ago. The rack is inside the stock K frame. We are just refining it some.

Rick will be lobbying for a race at US 41 for next summer. Date will be determined when we make sure we're not going to conflict with anyone.

Spent some more time at Patrick's today. He had the new mounts built for the rack. He has also milled out a couple threaded adjusters for preventing the wheels from flopping too far when backing up. Next trip down we should get it finished. I also have a couple minor things to do to the motor and I'm ready for the season.

Old tie rod

New tie rod. Patrick also moved it below the steering arm to help Ackermann and bump steer.

That's Mo Better! I'm sure it was fine, but those tie rods made me... nervous...

Mike admitted they weren't optimum. Just making little improvements here and there.

Finished up the mechanicals on the steering today. Patrick is going to do an alignment, then it's back to my shop.

Brought home my 5.38 gears today too. Trying to decide if I want to use them or my 4.86's. Decisions, decisions.

I am really leaning toward the 5.38's, but I think with the 4.86 I could still leg it through a 1/4 mile without driving over the crank......

I watched the tach across the stripe at Joliet last year and I was only turning 5200ish. Right now with 4.10's I go through the trap in the 1/8th in 2nd gear.

Makes sense if you want to do 1/4 and 1/8 mile without the gear swaps.

Of course the 5.38's would really make the half duzzin be buzzin'.

Remember, this car has tall tires. 30", Dennis?

Yes, a 9X30 radial slick. I am also thinking about a 10X31 radial.
