I hear you on that one Jeb. I've had all kinds of clearance issues trying to use stock aircleaners on my 2x1. The front carb, even with a low profile bale hits the hood. Right now I have a mongrol front air cleaner that is the base from my 9" closed air cleaner and the top from my 9" 62 aircleaner. I put a 2" element in and it clears. However, when using the 3" lids, they interfere with the linkages. Its kind of a pita, and I'm reluctant to start cutting them up just yet ;)

Quick question, after some engine mods like changing camshaft, bigger valves, bigger carb and using a cool air intake, engine sound will change?
