Found a real 1973 carb. Previous posted info on jets is wrong. The numbers match but jet 862 is old style tall jet. As found in carb number 6316sa. Newer jets do not fit. |

Thats the hot idle valve, that could be hidden vacuum leak.

Thats an off idle spring loaded idle air bleed,not sure yet. Any way it might be leaking,use duct tape block it, idle may improve

Not the best picture,but fuel level is just under the bottom cluster gasket, which means that top main well air hole is not covered with fuel. IT is open to air from main system air bleed.This will need on the car,top of carb off check of actual fuel level, not float level. Be safe about this, fire is possible , be ready before it happens. On new to me test carb fuel level was above gasket,needed custom float adjustment to drop it down to 1/32 be low bottom of gasket. Carter never said where it should be,so this just a guess. The carb runs good at that level. In that bullentin .015 up or down was given but from where? |
