The factory Ford falcon with multiple carburetors couldn't get out of its own way in the compact NASCAR series. I guess Holman & Moody didn't like getting beat by a slant so, if you can't beat 'em join 'em. The Valiant has to be a slant 6. I think the author Lee Holman was a kid or not even born when Holman & Moody joined the slant 6 family. He assumed it was a V6. Mark |

Never knew they raced these in the Carolinas also. Lots of miss-information as noted on the V6. We know they raced it at Daytona based on these pictures.

Mark, they were probably just lapping them for the first time. If it would have been the 2nd time around their doors would have been blown off!!

How long did that series actually last? Did it make it half a season? |

I think maybe 2 seasons. I read that they raced in 59 at Continental Divide in CO I think. The Valiants did not race of course as they were not produced yet. Saab, Volvo, maybe Studebaker, etc. were raced. |
