For now I did get some night driving glasses but next time I am in the optometrist (soon) for new glasses and a checkup I will be looking into proper lenses with the BPI 450 dye treatment. |

I am seriously contemplating making YouTube videos to explain slant six related things and car projects and such, and one of the videos I would love to do would be a discussion of LED headlamps vs. sealed beam headlamps, in part because I actually have an old headlight aiming machine that will show the beam pattern of the lamp being aimed. I think it would be beneficial in this era of intentional and unintentional mass-distribution of misinformation and outright lies. |

Hello Dan, I just had my Eye Doctor Appt, New prescription etc. I am trying to follow your recommendation of getting glasses made with BPI Winter Sun/450 Product Code: 37870 , but I have yet to find any place that can make lenses with this dye / coating. They all could be idiots or unknowledegable / unwilling to figure out how to do this with their lab? I handed the eye Dr's glasses place the spec sheet , and they said "we cannot do that." Then, I looked into an online outfit and they claimed to be able to match the color but not by using the actual BPI37870, to the light filtering properties would not be what I am asking for. Do you have any sources to "look into"? pun intended! many plaudits! Greg |

Oof. Donno where to send you; I'm not in the United States. Best I can suggest is keep asking around, and/or contact BPI and see if they can point you or your optometrist at a local (or mail-in) lab. |

Greg For driving in the day and night I sometimes use a pair of clip on lenses like these: https://vseyewear.com/product-category/ ... g-glasses/ It makes my eyes feel less strained, but it does make it too dark if it is a mostly cloudy day. I will also wear them if I am driving at night in a well lit area with lots of obnoxious and blinding oncoming LED headlamps. Maybe clip-ons are an option? |

I am doing some more research thank you for the suggestions guys. Dan, were you aware of this? BPI 37629 Total Night HD Tint? It is maybe newer. How does it compare to your original recommendation of BPI 37870? Greg |
