At least now I feel better about how my Daytona looked when I got it.

I think this thing has star quality. Mel Gibson could use this for the fourth installment of The Road Warrior. Rob will be hobnobbing with Hollywood types and you guys will have to take back all these negative waves!

Rob, how do find the time for all of these projects?! You are truly infected with the slant sixness/sickness!

It was actually a pretty nice, running car when we got it back in 2003.

You're right Brian. I am definitely infected with the Slant Sixness! I have been for a long time, but being overseas for over 6 years kinda put it into remission for awhile.

It's BAAACK!!!

In case you haven't noticed, I DON'T have the time for them. That's why NONE of them are even close to being done.

Seriously though, we were going "Gangbusters" back in 2004 with about a dozen eager teenagers tearing into anything that I would let them tear into. Then the Army said I needed to go on to other interesting adventures in other foreign lands...

7 years later and I'm just trying to get everything back together and would love to start the GodsRods Ministry again... We'll see what the Lord has in store for us. I'm just trying to be "available" if He sees fit for things to continue.

Turismo 225 can either sit waiting for another 7 or more years, or we could start tearing into it right away... Time will tell.

I posted a pic of some of the original GodsRods Crew over in the GodsRods Duster II thread.

Since this thread had turned into "the basement thread" for awhile I figured I'd post this here.

We decided to have someone sheetrock the basement rather than do it ourselves. It was the right decision as they got done in a week what would have taken me a couple months to do and my work would not have turned out anywhere close to this nice.

I stopped by the garage on the way into work this morning to dig out our tile tools for the next step in the basement saga and did a little Slant 6 stuff while I was there :D ! I had to slide the tranny over a few inches and I stumbled over the oil pan...

I didn't know which of my many threads to put that in since I'm not sure at the moment which vehicle that tranny and oil pan will wind up in. :?

1. The Street Duster ain't happenin'... :(
2. GodsRods Duster II currently has the "Gary Bruner Special" engine/tranny in it... 8)
3. Turismo 225 is still a long way off from moving under its own power.
4. I'll be making a decision this week on a certain "way ahead" that has been mentioned a time or two... That decision will (hopefully  ) determine what goes where.

Post subject:  For Sale!!

If I'm gonna be able to pull off buyin' Norm's Challenger, I've got to sell all of my other projects (except GodsRods Duster II).

$1500 OBO

That bad, huh...?

I think it's still a good viable project for someone wanting to build a lightweight, aerodynamic drag car.

Roll bar was installed without using the NHRA spec bottom plates, but I think the back half job was done okay.

If no interest soon I'll pull out the shortened 8 3/4, give the doors and rear hatch to Gerald for his Charger and scrap the rest. Hate to do it, but it all has to go... :(

Make me an offer.

I'm gonna try to plan another road trip down South to pick up the rest of the stuff from Norm's and stop by Maynardville to pick up the Turismo. I'll just haul it all back up here and throw a tarp over it.

Gerald sold the Shelby Charger I gave him, but kept the hatch and doors, so he doesn't need the ones from the Turismo now.

Post subject:  It's home...

I made it down to GA and TN for another "Road Trip". :D

Mike (12) went with me this time. He drove.

We picked up the rest of the parts (4 engines) from Norm and swung by Gerald Wright's to drop off the Challenger head for a good going through and flow on his bench.

When Gerald sold the Shelby Charger he saved the "Turismo 2.2" side skirts and rear spoiler for me from the "Turismo 225" project. If this project ever gets any further I will use the original 2.2 graphics to make the Turismo 225 graphics. Photos later...

Anywho,... The Turismo is here in KY now. Sitting half way down the hill kinda sorta outta the way...

I moved the Turismo all the way down the hill to the back (bottom) of the property the other day... I'll throw a tarp over it some day...

Post subject:  Last call

If no one wants this thing I'll pull out the shortened 8 3/4 and scrap it.

There are photos linked somewhere in this thread.

I'll get about $200-$300 for scrap, so if it's worth that to you come and get it.

Post subject:  I touched it! :-)

I was doing some yard work at the garage yesterday and decided to clean the leaves and pine needles off the Turismo.

The driver side floorboard was trapping rain water, so I took a hammer and punch to it to drain the water out.

All better now. :D
