Hmmm, by my count, with the guys from FABO, the total is 25 on the valve covers, which would mean that Offy could have a casting lot done! ![]() |

I'll be down for a valve cover for sure and possibly an intake if there was a good discount. |

Think everyone who's interested could PM me a shipping address, or at least a zip code, along with which offy parts you'd be wanting a discount on to see what we'll be dealing with shipping-wise? I've got the total at 26 for the valve cover, 4 for the 2x1bbl intake and 7 for the 4bbl intake. |

Pharmboy, I'd suggest you post firm prices and a list of people and what they are ordering here so everyone knows where we stand and will save you the hassle of having to respond to all the PMs. MJ |

Post subject: | Thanks Guys! |
I am very thankful for all the interest and help with this idea! Rock, thanks for putting things in perspective price wise. Pharmboy and I have tried to contact the two vendors with the lowest list prices. If anyone knows who is in their price range please let us know where to expand our search next. As you know we are waiting for AAA Marine to contact Pharmboy-we will go from there. I am thankful NewLancerMan is here to advise! The valve cover buy is looking like a go! I understand MJF - I would like an intake and a cover but I will consider myself lucky to get the valve cover at a good price. 68barracuda, keep it up I like those long runners! I will not be buying a 5041 at this time so maybe I will be a customer of yours one of these days. Pharmboy is fired up to do some play by play valve cover mods as well as 5041 mods. He has had some good advice! Lets keep thinking /helping each other this may take some time! |

I have to agree...very nice manifold. And the shape is nice to look at, almost resembles a piece of gothic ironwork. I take it it's designed for a rotating rod type of throttle linkage like an early A-body? |

Before I commit to the valve cover I need to know if it will fit an early 170. Near the firewall side there is a heater box and as it sits now with the stock cover the rear section is stepped down to allow for this box. Anybody know if a new one will work with no cutting etc? |

I'm not sure if it will fit the 170, but you can see from the pic here http://tinyurl.com/slantcover that the rear portion of the cover does sit lower. Not sure if that's enough to clear your firewall, but I hope this illustration helps. |

Thanks pharmboy. I just measured. On the low side of the cover measuring parallel with the edge it is +or- 3" from the bottom of the gasket lip to the top of the cover. On the high side it is +or- 4 1/4" parallel with the edge. This is for the back 4" of the cover. As it sits now theres about 2" of clearance from the top of cover to the box which is needed to wiggle it over the rockers. Can ne1 verify these for the offy? |
