Post subject:  Talked to Howard Davis

I spoke to Howard Davis this evening. He won't be able to make the race. He grenaded his engine at Indy last weekend. :(

He did mention a "Grudge Match" with Barry Harrison though... Something about a case of beer,... a baby bottle,...

He also said that he plans to build another Slant 6 with some very serious parts in it.

I'll keep in touch with him and report on progress. :D

Post subject:  Thanks Fred and Barney!

Rob and Lou, thanks for shakin' the bushes and promoting slant six racing. I think both of you may be nominated to be inducted into The Order of the Slant - once I figure out what exactly that is! Could be a ceremony at the banquet. Prolly like the Order of the Waterbuffalo.

Well then get ta wrenchin'!! We want you at Clay City! :D

You're one of the featured vehicles in the highly sought after and much anticipated "Slant 6 Racing" Calendar!

So, it would be very appropriate (and much appreciated) if you were to attend the very event that the calendars are made to support...

How's that fer some arm twistin'...?

Post subject:  Moving Charlie up the list. :-)

I called Charlie to confirm his intentions to attend and he's comin'. :D He also tried to make it to Bristol, but had to turn around about 130 miles from home with some tire issues on his little Toyota Pick 'Em Up Truck. :( He's got that worked out now, so we'll see him at Clay City.

That's all Top 5 "East Coasters" that will be there battling it out to see who comes out on top for the National Championship!

Rodney and Alanna have changed their plans to be there both days after Rodney won both days at Bristol. He wants to tie things up with Ron Hamby and add a third National Championship to his belt.

This is gonna be FUN!! :D :D

That's too bad Jon. I know how that goes.

We've had a ton of un-planned expenses lately as well. I'd list them all, but it's too depressing.

Good luck with the repairs on the Dart. I hope all goes well.

We'd love to have you come and hang out with us under the big shade trees with or without the Dart.

This is really startin' to come together! :D

Norm and Elaine Foster are gonna try to get their grandson's Scamp put together and come racin' with us too! :D :D

I'm heading down there this evening to pick up the Challenger and other schtuff, so they'll finally have room in the garage to Git R Dun.

I'll help Norm with the Scamp before I head back up North.

Post subject:  Free Entry for Rookies!!

Any Rookie Racers that show up and race with us at Clay City will have their $40 entry fee paid! :D

Post subject:  It keeps gettin' better and better! :-)

This Roll Call gets better every day! :D

Norm posted in Social Corner that he has the intake and headers mostly in his grandson's Scamp and he's tearing into the brakes now, so I'm removing the :?: from him and Elaine. :D

I'm also taking my last :?: off! I'm going for it and will spend every evening and weekend getting the Duster ready.

Bobby Rogers PM'd me and said he has his new 4 barrel and headers on and hopes to make it to a Test & Tune before Clay City! :D He was the promoter for the Clay City race for several years, but never raced himself. I guess that makes him a "Rookie" and I'll be paying his entry fee.

I also got another PM from Gene McRill (62 alum) from Kansas City saying that he plans to come! :D Gene raced with us at Kearney last year with his '66 Valiant. He's comin' to hang out and do some "Bench Racin'".

So, to the rest of you out there reading this that are on the fence about getting your car ready and comin' to race with us... "Git R Dun!!"

We're only a couple cars away from a 50 point race! :D
