Where are the racers staying, this year? I just tried to book rooms at the Hagerstown Hotel and Convention Center (where we stayed last year), and they are full up.

Charlie did they say what was going on? Full already, Wow! I think Ron Heath stayed at another motel that was close and he said it was nice and had parking for the car trailer. I'll try and find out for you. May have been a Red Roof Inn? Rick

To All, I spoke to the Clarion Hotel and they said that they have a large parking lot behind the hotel for truck and trailers. She told me that they are currently 75% full and that they are filling quickly. This hotel was recommended by the other one that was full. It is about 2 miles past the Hagerstown convention center on the same road, opposite side. Apparently there are several large groups in town that weekend. Ok, I just spoke to Ron Heath and verified that they did stay at the Red Roof Inn. I called them and she told me they have plenty of rooms and ample parking for truck and trailers. They are probably 10 minutes or so from the track. It is just off Interstate 81 at Williamsport, MD, just before you would get on interstate 70 to head to the track.( For those who are coming from the South) 64.99 for double occupancy. I picked up our Winner and Runner-up Plaques for both races Yesterday. I got plaques instead of trophies this year. I think they may be easier to store / keep long term. For what I paid for 2 trophies in years past, I got 4 plaques. Rick

I'm still hoping to come, but will likely be without a race car. Sorry about that. I won't have a trailer by then and need to save every penny for our father/son Road Trip to pick up Chase's Duster in June. I will hopefully borrow back Andrew's SRT-4 and camp at the track. Doubtful I will have all of the bugs worked out of the Colt by then. I might bring one or more of the boys.

Rick Yes I talked to a kid at the Race track 2 weeks ago who said that he will have a slant 6 scamp in the car show - I dont remember his name, But he was over in the pits last year checkin us slanters out - He remembered Charrlies Maroon Car and Mine.. etc. Rick You just need to convince him to race! At the banquet it was discussed about possibly having our race be an 1/8 mile one day and 1/4 the next. I want to make this decision here shortly. I would like to know if there is anyone who is seriously planning on going for an 1/8 mile record, who can only do it at Mason Dixon? If you are going to Elk Creek or Knoxville you obviously have 4 races that you can go for a record at. But if you were only coming to Mason Dixon, and you wanted to try for an 1/8 mile record, please let me know. You can PM if you like. I have one person who may go for some records if they are here, but I have already spoken to him and he does not want us to run 1/8 mile just for him. I already know of some folks who do not want to do 1/8 mile. I personally would prefer to have 1/4 mile both days, but agreed to consider this. So please give me your comments. If we do the 1/8 mile it will be on Saturday for sure. Let's give it about a week for comments and then I'll decide and let everyone know. Rick Also as you know for certain that you are coming please update us . I'd like to know who to expect.
