Quote: i removed the fresh air box and covered the hole with a sandwich of sheet metal/ insulation/ sheet metal. doesn't leak when it rains. i'd also suggest adding a screen where the air box meets the cowl vent to help with those leaves if you don't want to completely remove it. Of course, it's never fall here in Southern California, so leaves are never an issue. |

After reading all of these posts it seems the answer is: TA-DA...........(drum roll) ........"It depends". The goal is ideal AF ratio. Sometimes cooler air does that, sometimes it makes it worse. This is not a one size fits all question. You must try it for yourself and see. It is another fun thing to play around with. Thanks for the tip on the 80's truck based intake air temp control. I will start working on that to even out the AF ration between summer and winter. Sam |

I removed the fresh air vents and closed up the holes.
How did you close them up? Im tired of leaves in my face, and broken doors.I figure rolling down the window and popping the vent windows open is better than a face full of leaves. Unless you drive through a forest, which is cool. |
